Foods
We are enhancing our raw agricultural and livestock production while creating new businesses to transform it into food, feed, fibre, and ingredient.
Rice
The quest to produce premium rice begins with seed selection. The best quality raw material will produce the best quality product. Our quality management supports our brand promise “GOOD FOOD ALWAYS” as comprehensive inspection & testing precede purchase and sourcing of paddy lots.
Random samples are drawn from paddy to perform test on a mini mill to confirm yield, grain length, field admixture and cooking characteristics. Every lot is thoroughly checked to meet stringent quality parameters before milling. As a result, a high-quality premium rice is manufactured, marketed, and distributed under the brand name “African Pride” to predominantly cater for everyone.
Sustainability in Rice
As a prominent purchaser of Nigerian paddy rice from native farmers, wholesalers, and local traders, we are committed to ensuring fair working conditions in our supply chain. We collaborate with the native farmers to promote sustainable rice cultivation and implement the sustainable rice farming technique to improve their livelihoods and reduce environmental impacts. Thereby, helping farmers to improve productivity, implement modern agronomic practices, source better inputs and creating planting and irrigation training programmes.
How We Produce Rice
1. Milling Line
2. Refining Line
3. Packing Line
This is an art. The maturity of rice has direct effect in its cooking. Between 3 to 5 months after planting, paddy is harvested and sent to the mill, where it is checked for quality and weighed before processing. Once the paddy passes laboratory test, it is then received on specially designed raised platforms for sun drying and also through steam drier technology. The moist paddy is fed into the steam column driers controlled by heat exchangers to bring the moisture down to 12 percent, then sent to go downs for a minimum of 72 hours tempering process.
Dried paddy is fed into the elevating columns and pre-cleaned to make sure it is free of any foreign materials, then fed into the pneumatically controlled huskers to curtail cracks and broken tips developing. The husked brown rice then undergoes paddy separating, de-husking, de-stoning, polishing and grading processes to become semi-processed rice. The inedible outer hull is removed and used as a source of energy.
The production of steamed rice is very delicate and technical. The soaking, pressure steaming and drying prior to milling produces parboiled rice. With this process, nutrients are driven from the bran to the kernel, so that milling removes less of the rice’s nutritional value than it would do otherwise. We ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene is achieved while carrying out this process.
The steamed and brown rice are milled further to remove husk, bran and germ layers to varying degrees, changing the appearance and flavour of the crop and extending storage life, then polished to a shiny white finish to the seed, a layer of bran is removed during polishing process to achieve that pearl white look. This process is carried out through several passes to save the grain from breakage, depending on the whiteness required. The mist polishers deliver an extremely clean and glossy appearance to the grains, which is a distinguished advantage over traditional milling method.
The milled rice is graded at different stages to check its length and thickness. All broken grains are separated to achieve optimum and uniform grain length at this point. This process is carried out through length grading cylinders installed at different stages of the process.
Our Rice Products
This is a superior class of premium quality long-grain parboiled rice that has undergone a hydrothermal steaming process to partially boil the un-husked rice. This process enhances the strength of rice grains for better cooking results with that traditional taste of native Nigerian rice that looks fluffy with high grain elongation and expansion when cooked. Our parboiled rice is an appetizing source of carbohydrates and protein, and enhanced with vitamin A to increase its nutritional value.
This is a premium grade of less than ¾ of whole grains and short whole grains obtained after sorting milled rice to make 100% broken clean rice, none discolored grains, fully sortexed without foreign matter, stones, red streaked kernels or damaged grains. Broken are used for traditional recipes such as couscous, masa and in baby cereals and other foods/ingredients.
This is a premium grade from the 100% broken clean and none discolored white rice that is fully sortexed without foreign matter, stones or dust. This broken silky polished rice is milled into flour, a perfect choice for baking gluten free products, foods/ingredients, and traditional recipes such as instant meal that meets the food standards code.

Edible Oil
Edible oil products are found in a remarkable range of everyday food and beverages. We extract, process and merchandize some range of oilseeds – including sesame seeds, soyabeans, sheanuts, coconuts, and groundnuts – but palm olein, groundnut, and soyabean are our principal sources of edible oils. Our processed oils are fortified with vitamin A and are vital ingredients in a variety of cooking oils, salad dressings and processed foods while groundnut and palm olein are mostly consumed crude and as vegetable oil and are used in a multitude of edible products.
Committed to Sustainability
In addition to our merchandizing capabilities, we are also connected with our commitment to responsible sourcing, traceable supply chains and sustainable business practices. Increasing traceability in our palm oil and soyabean operations is also central to our sustainability efforts, to encourage responsible land use and non-conversion of native vegetation for soyabean and palm oil cultivation.
Our Edible Oils Products
A pure oil obtained by crushing high-quality soyabean and processed into refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) soya oil for use in cooking, pastries, and salad dressings. As a result, we produce soyabean meal as a high-protein ingredient for added nutrition in animal feed by grinding the flakes that remain after most of the oil has been extracted from dehulled soyabeans. The soyabean hulls are the outer coverings that are removed prior to conditioning and flaking for oil extraction and are an excellent option for use in feed supplements for ruminants in diets requiring high fibre content.
A pure oil obtained by cold-pressed method to extract crude groundnut oil from groundnut grains and refined for use as a cooking oil. Groundnuts and groundnut oilcake are rich in protein, minerals and vitamins. The vine residues, after the pods are removed, are processed as a good protein feed for horses and for ruminant livestock.
An edible vegetable oil that is extracted from the reddish pulp of the oil palms fruit, a pure crude, un-refined oil extracted from the fleshy fruit pulp around the kernel, it is orange or red in colour due to its high ß-carotene content, which is a source of Vitamin A and produced mainly as a cooking oil.
We further process palm oil into refined, bleached, and deodorized (RBD) vegetable oil for use as cooking oil and for commercial food processing.

Honey
This is a sweet and viscous substance made by several African honey bees. Honey bees produce honey by gathering and then refining the sugary secretions of plants (primarily floral nectar). This refinement takes place through regurgitation and enzymatic activity, as well as during storage in the hive through water evaporation that concentrates the honey’s sugars until it is thick and viscous. Honey is stockpiled in the hive inside a structure made from wax called honeycomb, which is hundreds or thousands of hexagonal cells, into which the honey bees regurgitate honey for storage.
Our Honey Products
We extract a pure brand of 100% non-adulterated raw natural, or unpasteurized organic honey with guaranteed superior quality from our apiary already natured by nature.

Yam
They are starchy staples in the form of large tubers and are grown as native to warmer regions of both hemispheres, and several species are cultivated as staple food crops in the tropics, but it is indigenous to West Africa as the primary agricultural commodity and the focal point of elaborate rituals. Yams are consumed as cooked starchy vegetables as boiled and then mashed into a sticky paste or dough, they may also be fried, roasted, or baked.
Our Yam Products
This is milled from dried yam peels and chips to make a more nutritious undiluted flour called “Elubo” in Yoruba language, brownish in colour and fortified with vitamin A. Yam flour is used to make a very popular traditional Nigerian meal called “Amala”. Amala is a local staple food eaten mostly by the Yorubas and consumers around the world.
We make a high-quality instant pounded yam flour with natural taste for consumers who desire high quality and easy to prepare meal. Pounded yam is consumed by almost every tribe in Nigeria and its consumption cuts across all regions, age groups, economic and social classes. The traditional method of making pounded yam requires physical pounding of boiled yam with pestle and mortar by two or more strong men or women depending on the quantity, it is very labourious and mostly unhygienic. Instant pounded yam flour has removed the drudgery associated with the traditional pounding method and brought succor to pounded yam lovers as they can now make their menu through a less time-consuming process that is more hygienic with longer shelf life.
